Why You Need To Bring Props To Your Senior Photoshoot
Don’t get me wrong… I LOVE photographing senior grads no matter what the shoot looks like.
Mountains? Yes. Record shop? Absolutely. Creekside vibes? Yesss please.
BUT, there’s nothing better than when a senior brings PROPS to their photoshoot. It may not be super common, but I will die on this hill!
Props are such an easy, interesting way to add unique personality into your photos.
Take Alyssa, pictured above.
She has a special relationship with the dollhouse that her grandma gave her as a young girl. She’s spent hours playing with it as a child, creating entire imagined worlds with the dolls, and finding her own unique expression through them.
So of courseeee we incorporated it into her photos! It just makes for such an epic photoshoot that no one else could replicate.
Or, here’s Gryffin.
He brought a lantern and string lights to his shoot, which I am very much still thinking about. I LOVED the creative challenge of using these fun props to not only add to his photos, but also tell a story.
Now, he’s not just a cool dude walking in a field, he’s a whimsical traveler — or courageous explorer — or a warrior searching for his lost love — who knows?! The possibilities are endless.
Whether it’s your instrument, your favorite book, your artwork, a cool mirror, or your fur-babies, consider bringing something to elevate your shoot to the next level.
Worst case scenario, we don’t use it… but best case?! You end up with absolutely ROCKIN’ senior photos that no one else could compete with.
