Why I Love Senior Grad Sessions SO MUCH
Let me just say it:
I. LOVE. Senior sessions.
They’re some of my favorite types of shoots to photograph, ever.
As a Colorado senior photographer, I’ve had the chance to meet and work with some of the coolest high school and college grads—and I always leave these sessions feeling so inspired and energized.
Here’s why these shoots have my heart:
1. I Get You — Because I Was You
I graduated college just three short years ago, so I’m not far removed from all the big feelings that come with senior year ~
The excitement, the confusion, the fear, the hope…
It’s a huge season of transition, and I genuinely understand what you’re going through. That means I can capture you in a way that feels authentic—because I was in your shoes not long ago!
2. All My Energy Goes to You
One of the reasons I love senior shoots so much is that I get to work one-on-one with just you (or whichever friends you bring along). No wedding timelines or crowded parties—just time for us to create some magic, together.
It feels like a bestie hangout. I’ll hype you up, fix your hair, shout “OH MY GOSH YEEEEESSSS” every time you slay a pose, and help you feel confident. We get creative, try different things, and make art out of the simplest moments.
3. It’s Seriously So Much Fun
We’re blasting music, dancing around, frolicking through fields or forests or wherever we decide you do your shoot.
And in the process, we create senior portraits that genuinely reflect who you are!
Your personality, your energy, your story.
This isn’t about stiff smiles or awkward posing. It’s about you feeling seen—and having a good time in the process!
4. You’ll Be So Glad You Did This
You only get to live this chapter once. Whether you’re graduating from high school or college, this season is worth documenting.
Even if you’re unsure, I always tell people—someday, you’ll want to look back and remember who you were right now.
You’ll want to remember the confidence you were growing into; the little details—like your outfit or your freckles or the way you smiled when your photographer said something silly. Hehe.
And no doubt you’ll feel SO grateful to have beautiful photos that freeze this version of you in time.
